Non-Disclosure Agreement

We have had a new anonymous question in:
Should I require prospective angel investor or venture capital investors to sign a Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA) so they don’t take my idea and do it themselves?

my experience of NDAs is that they’re only worth it if you can afford the legal costs of enforcing them… and, whilst people may be able to take your ideas, they can never take your relationships (which are usually the key factor in being able to get something successfully launched/going);

however, they do show that you’re taking things seriously - if the investors usually expect to be asked to sign them, they’re a way of further developing your relationship with them by engaging with them in ways they’re familiar/comfortable with.
